| | GramadoGramado is a small touristic town to the southeast of Caxias do Sul and east of Nova Petrópolis in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. In the 17th of January 1913, the city of Gramado was founded. One of the distinctive features of Gramado is its interaction with environment. Gramado has several green areas, the most important are Black Lake, Communications Square, Knorr Park, Orchard Park, Major Nicoletti Square and, Roses Square. Black Lake (English for Lago Negro) is the most known, visited green area of Gramado. it has already been a great forest reservation of the area, but it was destroyed by a fire in 1942. In 1953, there were a reforestation and the construction of the dam. The seedlings of the pine trees that border the lake came from the Black Forest, in Germany, then the name Black Lake. There are trails for walks and pedalo.
Other attractions of Gramado are Cascata dos Narcisos (Cascade of the Narcissuses), Cascata Véu de Noiva (Veil of Bride Cascade), Cascata do Chuvisqueiro (Cascade of drizzle), Vale do Quilombo (Valley of the Quilombo), Igreja da Matriz (Mother Church).
