Ilhabela

Ilhabela (Portuguese for Beautiful Island) is an archipelago situated 4 miles off the coast of São Paulo state, in Brazil. The Original name of the place is Ilha de São Sebastião (São Sebastião's Island). Also known as Ilha Bela.

The canal between Ilhabela and São Sebastião is one of the deepest natural canals of the world, as deep as 70 meters in the central sailing area.

The coast of the island is filled with more than 50 sunk ships. 6 of them can be visited by diving.

The island has 36 beaches, several waterfalls, about 400 rivers and streams, 12 islets and a State Park. Almost every beach has bars. The island has many restaurants and lodging.

Feiticeira beach is enclosed by mansions. It has calm waters, clean sand and coconut trees.

Eustáquio beach can be Reached by boat or walking through the Castilian's Beach. There is a bar that sells beer and seafood.

Pedra do Sino (Bell's Stone) is at 4 km from Ilhabela's Village. It's got that name because the stones make bells sound when the water hits it.

Jabaquara situated at the north of the Island. 2 rivers flow out on the beach, forming lakes. Going there by boat or schooner is great.
