  I guess it's time to announce a winner... but first...
  - As mentioned before, thank you everyone for showcasing your talent here. We greatly appreciate your participation and hope we can hold more contests in the future as we continue to develop our marketing tech side of the company.
  - Runner-ups: #39 for most realistic. #35 for most unique styling. #38 , 43, and 66 tied for best skinning and costume.
  - This was a very close race and no one judge picked the same winner. We had to go to our other rubrics and here are the best ones as finalized by the panel of 4 judges including an independent digital marketing consultant not related to our company and not paid for her contributing viewpoints:

     Just got the announcement - congratulations Maria on a job well done, lovely to be considered joint second - fantastic Contest - once again, sincerest thanks to our host.   FYI, we went through a round of rejections in preparation for the judges voting tomorrow afternoon US Central time. The rejections were based on the submissions meeting the requirements. Nothing personal about your skills as an artist. Best wishes for your continued success. For those remaining, we kept all versions from a single artist to show the judges the evolution that may have been demonstrated within the revisions. Best of luck.

  Hi everyone! Thanks again for all the great entries and the hard work you put in. There's a lot of really great talent here in Freelancer. As we get closer to the end of the contest, I wanted to provide a few notes so you know what to expect. **Due to the availability of our judges, scoring is now scheduled to happen no sooner than 1:00 pm Pacific time on Thursday, 9/8. **We will be reviewing your portfolio of prior artworks, your published rate for direct hiring going forward, your Freelancer feedback scores, and your historical project comments. There is no penalty for having little or no prior work or comments, and there is no penalty for having a few negative project comments as long as there is a balanced set of positive comments. **We will also conduct web searches for similar characters that you have submitted to ensure uniqueness. If there is a close enough prior art match, top scorers may get a chance to make adjustments to avoid IP issues.

  One of the contestants asked below to "disclose the criteria that will be used in the scoring system" I don't have a final scoring model yet as that will be agreed upon by the judges before the final review. It will likely change a bit before the final. As I mentioned, it's a shame we can't work with more than one talent as there are a few good submissions. Some may be straight out of Crypko but that's just a platform tool for artistic talent to more easily create great works. We're looking at both the talent and the character because as mentioned we need more work done once we pick a winning talent. Please see the reply to this post for the initial scoring system. Apologies if you disagree with any of them in any way, but this is unfortunately a subjective matter at the end of the day.

  Also note that at the end of the contest, there will be 3 voters from the company's founding stakeholders as well as an independent CEO from a California Marketing Consultancy to help weigh in. So even though I am making suggestions on your entries as the creative lead for the V-tuber marketing stream, it won't be simply my vote at the end of the contest. Good luck everyone! Thanks again.

  Some artists have requested to not end the contest early. I'm not sure where that comes from, but for us, we would never end a contest early. We want everyone to have a fair chance at the prize based on our declared contest schedule. We're happy to communicate our impressions of your wonderful and very creative works if it helps you to want to update your submission before the contest ends. Do not feel obliged to make updates based on our feedback if each submission has a material cost to you in terms of time or money spent on Freelancer. We can take submissions via chat if you request since it is free and with higher resolution posts, but the final submission (after all the chat back-and-forth) must be posted as a Contest entry before the contest ends. There are so many great and talented artists already posting, so we want to apologize ahead of time that we cannot work with everyone. Wishing everyone continued success in your career regardless of the result of this contest!

  Hello, I simply have a few question. Which style do you require? An anime-style or cartoon-style (same as the attached image "beau").

     No need for 3D. Beau is a partner of the Tomu character. In my business, it is important to have a separate witness for interviews. Anime can mean a lot of different things to different artists. I would like it in the style of Japanese anime protagonists. We will work with the winner to develop the Beau character similarly in a separate direct contract to make sure their styles match.

     Thank you for your interest and good question. Hair color in anime adds a lot to the character’s full persona (at least in my opinion), from pony tails to Mohawks to red flaming hair to clean-cut with suave streaks… in anime it says a lot about the character. i’ve seen grays work well but rarely see plain black hair. we are a tech company so blues or a bit of orange/yellow/gold is ok too. as a v-spokesperson for the company, bold, healthy, abundant hair is likely favorable. we don’t need to worry about company logo and company colors for now. that can simply be an emblem at some point on his laptop and/or gadget bag.
