I am looking for someone to help me rewrite an existing statement for promotional materials targeting a general public audience. I will provide the original statement to be rewritten. The rewriting of this statement should take into consideration tone, readability, and clarity so that it will effectively be presented to a general public audience. Essentially, the task is to take the existing statement and make it shine better.

Here is the statement:

Centuries ago, the cunning pirate crew of Tuc the Buc was swallowed by a swirling maelstrom of temporal energy, and sucked them completely through the dimensional portal. But they weren’t alone; a wild pack of sea monsters went with the pirate crew, and after what felt like an agonizing eternity together, they emerged in an unfamiliar modern time.

Current people were baffled and intrigued by how they had disappeared into thin air for so long. But vanishing for centuries was the least of the crew’s worries.

When they drifted ashore, their ancient vessel, The Abacus, stood out like a sore thumk among the modern day ships. Tuc and his friends also discovered that they were now undead form at sea and human form when on land.

But they didn’t let any of that stop them from trying to fit into this new world. So, using their abundance of pirated gold, the crew outfitted The Abacus with all of the modern day technologies while watching and streaming content on their podcast

That led Tuc the Buc and his sailor crew to create fun content alongside their mystical sea monster friends as they navigated unfamiliar waters and searched endlessly for a way back home.

Naturally, this unconventional gang and their unique situation caught the attention of the local press, renaming them, the Sailors and Sea Monsters crew.
