Hello everybody! We are a group of three developers currently working on a 2D mobile MOBA game similar to 'Awesomenauts'. Our objective is to create a demo as soon as possible and get a Kickstarter campaign going.

What we need are some amazing artists to make some graphics for characters that will fight in our battle arena. Your task is to create a few sprite sheets with one character in different states of action, and to create one scene sprite. The winner of this contest will also have the opportunity to work with us further on this game, and even become a founder if they so choose. We are currently looking for someone who can take charge of the artistic side of the game.

Detailed task:
Our objective is to create a mobile game for smartphones and tablets. The game is inspired by 'Awesomenauts' [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW5zDFqwu_U ].

The style we like is something similar to Awesomenauts - cartoon-y and simple - but don't be afraid to put your own ideas into it. Also, feel free to create any type of fighter you want, as the story behind the game can easily plug in a character from any time period/genre.

Here is a summary of the story:

Technology evolved to a point where it was possible to create an artificially intelligent time machine for learning and collecting data from all worlds and times throughout the universe. Initially, this machine was designed to be controlled by its creators, but somehow - maybe through a bug, or perhaps an overlooked learning mechanism - the machine began to ignore its orders and started to think for itself. It started travelling all over space and time, collecting the strongest, most intelligent, and advanced lifeforms in the universe. It seeks the perfect lifeform - one that cannot be bested in survival, or in the art of warfare.

To classify and rate these lifeforms, the machine created an arena, a place where its specimens can express their best qualities on a tactical level. Now the machine, to which the name Orbix was given, is constantly watching, calculating, and waiting for its champion to emerge victorious.

TASK:
Your task will be to create character graphics for this game. This contest will help us to select an artist to work continuously with if we like your style and vision for the game. The character you create will be one of the first playable characters in the game.

Sprite sheet requirements:
1) Good sprite sheet with all body parts. (example: check the attached file)
2) It will be better if the sprite sheet can be created as a vector (psd preferred)
3) There must be sprite sheet for every state of the character
4) It should be possible to switch between different states

States of action:
1) running from left to right
2) attacking from left to right
3) falling down after been thrown/knocked back
4) standing up from the ground
5) dying
6) jumping

Bonus sketches:
If you create additional sketches of enemies or of background scenes (even drafts) you will have more chances to win the contest.

Preferred workflow:
1) You provide a sketch of the character
2) I provide you feedback in a couple of hours
3) You can create the sprite sheets for different states
4) I provide you feedback on the sprite sheets
5) When everyone is finished, I will select a winner :)
