Hi I am looking for someone to draw the cover of my Kindle Ebook

TITLE: How to Write the Ultimate Resume from Scratch and Persuade Employers to Hire You Without Having to Interview!

Looking for professional cover. Winner will receive $50 USD but more importantly attribution credit in my book for the cover. Hopefully this will give you more leads in the future!

Kindle Direct Publishing accepts two types of files for cover images:

JPEG, or .jpeg
TIFF, or .tif(f)

KDP applies additional compression to images when displaying them on its website. For best results, images should be uploaded with minimal compression.

Dimensions

Requirements for the size of your cover art have an ideal height/width ration of 1.6, this means:

o A minimum of 625 pixels on the shortest side and 1000 pixels on the longest side
o For best quality, your image would be 1563 pixels on the shortest side and 2500 pixels on the longest side

Color

Product images display on the Amazon website using RGB (red, green, blue) color mode. RGB is the color mode native to the web and many color screen displays, as these three colors displayed at varying levels of intensity create over 16 million colors.

Use color images whenever possible and relevant. The Kindle reading device has a black and white screen today but Kindle applications for other devices, such as iPhone or PC, take advantage of color fonts and images.

Borders for White Cover Art

Cover art with white or very light backgrounds can seem to disappear against the white background. Adding a very narrow (3-4 pixel) border in medium gray will define the boundaries of the cover.

Would you like it if the final submission (for whoever wins) is an editable PSD file, along with the JPEG, or will you only be taking the JPEG. When I submit, I tend to keep an editable version (for quick colour and graphic changes the client might want to make), is this something you would be interested in?

  Great question! An editable PSD would be great but I intend to use the art work as is for whoever wins. i want the winner to get full credit for the design! What is really important that the image be very large graphic according to Kindle specs (because resolution needs to be high for print also) which is 1563 pixels on the shortest side and 2500 pixels on the longest side.

Why do this contest?

We have some good thought processes and design going on. I wanted to encourage you to "showcase" what you can do in this contest if either this is your first contest or maybe you have done other contests and never thought about it.

First, Freelancer allows the contest holder to make entries private to encourage original submissions supposedly. As you can see I haven't done that with my contest for two BIG reasons.

Reason #1 : I want you to also have the opportunity to showcase what you can do to the world! You may not win this contest but someone else might be impressed with your graphic skills and hire you for another project.

Reason #2: I wanted this contest to be "open" so everyone can see what each other are doing so you see and adjust what is working and what isn't. I try to leave honest feedback and ratings on all submissions so that you know how close or far you are away from what I like or think will work. Good luck.
