Bicycle Backlight Concept
I chose to design a retro looking backlight that will look cool on a variety of bikes. There are 3 red LEDs that can glow steady state, flash and pulse for safety depending on what the rider wants. The molded black plastic housing is highlighted with chrome linear detailing and the three light modules have a retro rod look. The large top chrome detail is also the on/off switch and the selector to change the flashing state of the LEDs. The reflectors inside have a parabolic shape to give the LEDs maximum brightness reflection. The light is easily attached to the seat post via a black plastic mounting bracket. A 1/4-20 nut and bolt hold it in place. The bracket has a nut recess feature to hold the nut in place while the bolt is tightened. The internal battery holder fits the battery that is described in the description. This was a fun project and I look forward to your decision on the winner.
