UI and UX design for a partially anonymous Q&A community for students within higher education
The purpose of the page is that users can ask questions and users can answer questions asked. Each user can select relevant subjects to them on the profile page. The users can search for questions that are relevant to them.
A similar concept to what we are making is https://stackoverflow.com/questions and Quora.
In this contest we are mainly looking for desktop styling for several different pages, but are also happy to receive mobile styling.
The site needs a header and footer visible on all pages.
The header should include the following elements:
* Logo
* Create question icon or link
* Search field to search for questions
* Username or profile picture that links to the users profile page
The footer of the page should include the following links (with room to add more links later):
* Terms
* About
* Contact
* Jobs
On the left or right side of the screen a list of the users subjects must be listed.
* These subjects are links that can be clicked to enter the question feed/search page to filter for specific type of questions.
On the left or right side of the screen there should be a notification center (similar to Facebook) that shows if someone has replied to your questions.
Here is a list of all the pages we are looking for. You don't need to create all of them, the most important is that the website has a modern look and style. But if the styling is good, the more pages you make, the better.
Profile page:
Here the user can update different user details.
Elements included on this page should be:
* Name
* E-mail address
* Phone number
* Profile picture
* Name of school (dropdown/search, for example: Harvard, Oxford, MIT, etc)
* Study programme (dropdown/search, for example: Engineering, Law, IT, Medicine, etc)
* Choose subject that are relevant (dropdown/search, for example: Design 101, Maths 302, etc)
* Change password-field/button
* Notification settings. The user can pick between e-mail, SMS or none for these:
1: Notified when there is an answer to your question.
2: Notified when someone else comments/answers in the same question as you have commented/answered
Question feed/Search page:
A page where the user can browse or search for existing questions, and filter on subjects.
* Search field
* Filters for existing schools, study program and subjects.
* List of search results that shows all relevant questions. Every question should include the username that posted the question, the timestamp it was posted, the question asked, button to like the question, button to show the answers to the question, button to reply to the question.
* Every question in the list should be clickable and takes the user to the "View question page"
View question page:
On this page the users can view the details of a selected question.
Elements that need to be on this page include:
* Username that posted the question
* Show timestamp when question was posted ("7 minutes ago" or "23.12.2020 13:37")
* The question that has been asked
* Button for liking the question (should display the amount of likes, or have a text saying how many people liked the question)
* Button for answering the question
* A list of answers to the question asked. Each answer will include the username that posted the answer, the timestamp it was posted, the actual answer to the question and a button so users can like the answer.
* A textfield or WYSIWYG-editor to post an answer to the question, along with a "Send"-button to send the answer.
Ask question page:
The user should be able to post a question.
Elements that need to be on this page include:
* Can choose post anonymously
* Textfield or WYSIWYG-editor to enter question
* Field to enter a tag related to the question (Finance, Math, Accounting, etc)
* Upload image button
Registration/login page:
* Google/Facebook login
* Username & password
Give it your best shot, we're looking very forward to what you have to show us!
