Hello - I have an ASP.Net GridView where users can make changes in "edit mode" to each individual row. Everything works fine, except for one issue. There are two columns in the GridView that I'm having trouble with: Category and Subcategory. Currently, if a row has a NULL value in the Subcategory column, the entire row is not visible. If there is a value in the Subcategory column, the row is visible. Here is the twist: upon page load every row has a Category value (cannot be NULL), but the Subcategory may or may not be NULL (Subcategory is optional - so NULL values must be allowed). Upon page load, some rows will have a subcategory value, and others will only have a subcategory value as NULL. However, when a user selects the edit mode for any single row, the category can be changed. Every time a new category is selected from the edit mode dropdown box, a different series of subcategories appears, depending on the parent category that is selected. I want users to be able to select new categories and subcategories as they can now (this works OK), but I also want the rows to be visible if no subcategory is selected. So, a user might change the category column, but continue to leave the subcategory column blank (NULL).
