I came across your position and it struck my interest. I am currently working full time as a Communications Specialist in a management consulting firm in Washington, DC. I currently work on government projects creating various communications products including fact sheets, briefings, Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs), stakeholder assessments, etc. However, my passion is writing and I would love to start freelancing on the side, unfortunately with no published work it is difficult to find opportunities. I would love the experience of working with you and learning as much about the field as possible.
Although the writing and communications I produce now are more structured I think it has taught me a lot about writing, editing, and formatting that I can transition to more creative work. I have the keen ability to create language from very little information and a good understanding of grammar. I have a few writing samples (though dull) that I can send you to assess my writing abilities. I also have a strong interest in graphic design and would love an outlet to display and utilized my self-taught Adobe Creative Cloud skills (including InDesign and Photoshop).
