"You can get up now" she sneered. His eyes widen and swiftly cutting through the final vine, stabbing and slashing at the exposed torso of the creature with his sword.
Pushing away from the dead creature he explains, " They've got no brains." He said. " We'll, they've got brains, but they sit further back in the skull than most other animals. Your arrow would have had to go twice as far to have any effect, other than blinding him."
She glared at him and continued to collect her arrows. "It was a fantastic shot though, and fast, it gave me that bit of extra time to get out of that stupid vine." She looks around at the rapidly darkening forest. " We should go. Your Highness." He paused, hurt and looked at her. " I only knew about the brain because the monks told me, otherwise, I would have gone for the eye too."
" Great." She spat. " The same monks we are running from, taught YOU to survive in their demon-riddled forest, forgive me, Your Highness, but that doesn't exactly reassure me." She hands him his backpack and shoulders her own. Sighing, he sheathes his sword, shoulders his pack and follows her down the darkening path.
