CRITICAL APPRAISAL
INTRODUCTION
The main aim of this segment is to critically study the Feasibility Study (the project assigned to our group), which was regarding the design and development of an underground car parking at the St Peters Church. My role in the project was to study the feasibility of the construction of the underground car parking and also consider the staff and equipment cost, processing speed, productivity and improved management speed.
• Benefits: I highly benefited from this project as it made me understand the idea of underground parking facility from the very basics. Learning a particular topic and actually designing and studying the feasibility of the design are poles. This feasibility study made my concepts clear and also helped me practically apply what I had leant during my course. For the Feasibility Study, first I carried out a study of the different types of underground parking facilities in existence. I tried to understand the basic of their construction and also the various benefits of an underground car parking. I also studied the requirements in the construction of an underground parking and the various other aspects that need to be looked into. This helped me expand my range of knowledge.
• Scope for improvement: In every task there is always scope for improvement. I feel this Feasibility Study can be improved by adding a bit of detail into it. In some topics like equipment cost and cost in hiring the different staff members. The cost of staff can be vaguely calculated by determining the number of workers required in the different categories and the average salary of each category. This study can also include the
