Yes I did project like this.
I use a special CODEC for sampling. Its from TI (TLV320AIC3254) and it can record up to 3 stereo channels.
It can also activate speakers or headphones.
Thos codec has a built in DSP and is capable of implementing all sort of filters on samples.
But if you want I can choose simple codec if its simple as you describe.
As far for the CPU, I will choose an appropriate CPU (I will try to stay simple and chip)
My question is if you want first a prototype, build from evaluation boards (no actual layout)
Or
You want directly to design new PCB with all your features (if you need buttons,LEDs etc..)
Or you want both.
I will be happy to build this project for you.
