Article: how Aussie small businesses use freelancer & elance

The Australian dollar is high, meaning overseas sourcing is attractive. However, how can small businesses take advantage? I'd like an article explaining how small businesses ((< 10 employees, often retail or personal services, eg butchers, pest controllers, florists, cafes, restaurants,child care, hair dressers) can use elance or [url removed, login to view] to save money by effectively outsourcing work overseas. The article should give some relevant examples, and also indicates pitfalls (quality control for example). I will use the article to start conversations with small businesses, hoping to act as a middle man. However, I want the article to be genuinely useful as stand alone content. The article will be turned into a downloadable PDF, with a summary teaser to be used as a blog entry.

I don't want discussion on building websites, that's passe. But content creation and management of social networking sites would be relevant, and also marketing, design, possibly overseas product sourcing.

Bids should cover some examples to give me an idea. The finished article should include a some screenshots, and should be delivered in .doc or .odt (OpenOffice v3.2 or later).
