Morning Sickness during Pregnancy
Many women often find out that they’re pregnant through morning sickness. This is a misnomer actually, because when pregnant you may feel sick at any time of day or night. ‘Morning sickness’ as we shall be referring to it, generally occurs in the first trimester of pregnancy and should end by the second. However, some women may continue to experience such effects throughout their pregnancy.
The onset of nausea in pregnant women may be quite immediate, though some are lucky and do not experience it at all. The cause has been speculated on profusely, but as yet has not been confirmed. The most likely explanation is that when pregnant, women undergo several bodily changes. Many experience such nausea after taking prenatal vitamins. In fact, doctors advise that these should be taken later in the day and possibly substituting them with other forms of vitamin intake. It is always advisable, especially when you are pregnant, that you consult with your family doctor or gynaecologist prior to taking any medication as well as discontinuing it. And this includes prenatal pills as well!
