This project is about scanning bar codes (and ideally also taking photos) with a hand held computer (like the Motorola MT2090) and guiding the user through the process. The information about what bar codes need to be scanned and in what sequence is held in a remote file that needs to be downloaded to the hand held computer. Instructions need to be shown on the screen telling the user what to do and, if errors are made, how to correct them. The logic for this has already been worked out and pseudo-coded.
The hand held computer can be programmed via MCL-Collection ([login to view URL]) or a language supported by Windows CE 5.0. The first task for this project is to create an MCL project based on the psuedocode. This can be done via a demo download of the MCL software which has a device emulator so the hand held computer is not required.
If the MCL result is good, the second task of the project will be to extend its functionality. If the MCL result is not good, the second task will be to write a program (in some flavor of C probably) and see the result.
There will be an additional phase to bullet-proof the program and do some other things to make it ready for use.
This project is for a customer near Bangkok and the work will ideally be done in Bangkok. Ideally the UI will be multilingual Thai or English. The hand held computer will be made available to the developer once we determine which one to use.
This work is needed quickly; the poster is currently in Bangkok.
