Do some data entry

I have some work, in an Excel spreadsheet. Need an Excel script or vb macro to perform the following items against a number of items in an existing workbook -- I have to scan in a rather large amount of barcodes daily, the barcode scanner works just as an input keyboard and then presses enter but would like to have the ability to check the worksheet after each scan. 1. Input a barcode via scanner 2. Check if barcode input it is an excel spreadsheet 3. If it is check that rows column for a date that is within 3 days of the current date (prior or forward) and beep once (audible sound) or if it is for a date further out than that then beep twice (audible beep) 4. If it is in that list highlight the number in list on first spreadsheet 5. But do not include it in the new list being created -- 6. Identify if scanned item is networker or netbackup based on code scheme (e.g. If networker the barcode will begin with a N it doesn't then it is a netbackup) 7. Then email list of scanned items (in some cases there may be 2 lists) in txt file with email subject Tape Location for networker or NW Location for net backup attaching the file to that email. 8. Save updated workbook but do not save the list(s) that was sent via txt file.
