Basic Edit to a Flash Movie

We require a simple edit to a flash movie, the movie can be viewed at http://www.thehauntedhouse.co.uk.
We basically want the movie to open up a HTML page to open up after the corridor sequence.
We have the original Flash Files (.fla) but only running Flash MX and unable to open the files (Unexpected File Format- error message) we believe this is due to the fact that the movie was made in a newer version of Flash and not compatible with MX?
As such we would also like the movie to be saved in a format that we can also open using MX if possible.
