This ASP.NET Web solution is ready and running fine in my Visual Studio 2010 IDE. It's about scanning documents in-browser using any scanner with its TWAIN drivers.
Problem is that it needs a cab file to be installed at client side. However, when it's trying to do it, it gets this error message from Internet Explorer in Windows 7:
"Windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publisher."
Also, IE of clients has been setup properly for allowing ActiveX components, but apparently cab file needs code signing certificate.
It is required to code sign this cab file, so web site can run in Internet Explorer without any error message. I will test solution in my web hosting server.
If there is any other way to solve this problem, feel free to discuss it. At the end, web site should run in Internet Explorer without any trouble.
Cab File to sign: [login to view URL]
[login to view URL] project: the one with controls.
[login to view URL] project: the one that produces cab file.
[login to view URL] project: main web site project.
It should run in IE 9 or above. Windows 7 or Windows 8.
ASP.NET solution must work in Visual Studio 2010.
Hi, I've faced the same problem with my C# ActiveX for Document Digital Signing. You have only 1 solution (that is to sign the dll / cab) and 2 approaches: approach 1 = buy code signing cert or approach 2 = generate a CA certificate which is installed in Trusted Root of client pc and then generate code signing cert with that CA. Option 2 = no cost, but limited to intranet where you can add CA to Trusted Root. Regards!

Hi,
If your ActiveX hasn't been signed by the wellknown PKI vendor, you haven't the chances to avoid this problem.
If you have codesign certificate it's is done for few minites.
