We have a upcoming project, an analytic portal for our customers where they can access their people counting data and also add information from their cash register to do good calculations on convertion rates, avarage sale amounts, hourly sales amount and so on.
Webpage should have a sleek and profesional design compared with todays standard - easy understanding and system shall be prepared to support several languages (translation files).
Developer should have references that can be compared - both similar systems and experience working with graphs/highcharts would be a good thing! I expect one company to handle the hole project, and I will one point of contact the whole process.
How the people counting numbers are integrated I will come back to later.
System should consist of email adresses for login, and strong passwords saved in a good system. User accounts are created from the administrator account (top-admin). There should be 3 userlevels (top-admin, chain administrator and user). Last user is typically the shops, and they only get access to their own information (shops info). chain administrators are typical the people that manages several stores office, they might want to compare all of their shops on different intervals (hourly, daily, weekly and so on). Top administrator manges the system, creates new customers, users and sub-customers.
In regards to the shops information - every chain admin belongs/administrats a customer. When we want to create a new shop, we create a sub-company under that company.
Thats the rough basics, and now for the analytics/graph part of the system:
For normal users (shop managers) they only get access to numbers about their own shop. They get a default view of todays numbers in a graph showing per hour. They can access to different functions on the menu, that allows them to look on details on a daily level, weekly level, monthly level and a yearly level. The user should easily be able to compare the window they have open with a similar day, week, month or year. When compared side by side, there should be two graphs showing two different colors for the different days.
If the user also has information from their cash register available in the system, they should also show up in the system. Cash register data should be inputed manually from a menu in the system. This should be possible to do by the branch admin or shop admin (user). If the user dont have access to hourly cash register information, they might get a option to input the days turnaround/cash register information. Cash register information contains number of sales and the total amount of sales (either per hour or per day).
The chain administrators will get a default view showing todays numbers from all of their shops, on a hourly view. If cash register information is available, this will also show - and should easily be toggeled on/off.
That gives a basic understanding of how we want the system to work I hope.
Integration with people counting data. This information will be pushed to the server, by MySQL queries about every 15 minutes. These numbers can sometime contain errors. The system should then have some sort of support for adding manualy information, that overrides this information that get pushed to the MySQL database (meaning that the top-admin can go in, and add a line into a mysql table, that gets higher priority than the one that receives information every 15 minutes). Manual correction simply said. Would also be great if there were sent an email to the chain admin and top-admin if there were bigger difference between two similar days than an x percentage (if monday week 1 is 100 and monday week 2 is 500, then the systems notices it and warns the admins about the problem).
Cashier data should be in its own mysql table, and this information should also be possible to push from other servers to the MySQL server.
