Develop a randomised Portfolio Grid Gallery Plugin for wordpress

Hi all.
I'm looking for someone to either extend or redevelop the following plugin:

Here is our wish list of the additional functionality that we would like to achieve.
1. Images = wordpress posts featured images
2. Filterable options = post categories
We would also like an admin option to pre select category for when used on our services pages.
3. Caption overlays = Post title + custom excerpt + read more (link to originating post)
4. Caption animation, timing and easing; replace these with:

Would be great if admin could choose one of the above hover effects for each gallery with an additional random option.
4. Possibility of infinite scrolling? the mikado grid gallery currently works by implementing a random grid within a pre defined width and height (percentage of browser), I'm thinking we could develop upon this theory to create something like the following somewhat basic example:
<10 images= 100%browser_width x (100%browser_heightx2), scroll to bottom ->
11-20 images= 100%browser_width x (100%browser_heightx4), scroll to bottom ->
21-30 images= 100%browser_width x (100%browser_heightx6), scroll to bottom ->
.... etc.... etc...
Obviously a min height would be required to make sure that a positive user experience is maintained on smaller devices but I believe the theory should work nicely - recommendations welcome here.
5. Retain the lightbox on click functionality - Post title + custom excerpt + read more (link to originating post) should be passed through to lightbox.
6. Consideration needs to be made in terms of the image sizes that are pulled though. ie 'thumb', 'thumbnail', 'medium', 'large', 'post-thumbnail' - recommendations welcome here.
7. Option to limit number of posts displayed.
Background info: We produce high end CGI's, and would like to create a filterable portfolio on our website homepage (& single category portfolios for services pages) which dynamically pulls through featured images, titles and excerpts from wordpress posts. We love the layout and other functions of the Mikado Grid Gallery but it's current limitations are too restrictive for us.
We already own the Mikado Grid Gallery plugin and have it set up on a test wordpress install so all is ready to go. I don't mind if you want to start from scratch or develop upon the existing plugin, but we do want to retain all basic functionality such as; styling customisations, responsiveness, social sharing icons (on mouseover), shuffle images (posts) on load.
