Imagine that in front of you is a table. Resting upside down on the table is a white top hat with its opening pointed towards the ceiling. You, the viewer, have x-ray vision and are able to see through the side of top hat and can view whatever is inside the hat. The top hat contains three keys, each a different color. Now, imagine the top hat with the encased keys is inside an Android Activity. When the Android device is moved left to right or up and down, the keys within the top hat are affected by the Android's motion and will move in reaction. The movements of the keys are damped, making the keys appear to have far more mass than seems visually possible. The bounds of travel for the encased keys are the interior sides, top and the opening of the hat. The opening of the hat may allow the encased keys to float outside of the hat. However, an invisible force field prevents the encased keys from falling or bouncing all of the way out of the hat's opening. Interested? Resting upside down on the table is a white top hat with its opening pointed towards the ceiling. You, the viewer, have x-ray vision and are able to see through the side of top hat and can view whatever is inside the hat. The top hat contains three keys, each a different color. The keys appear to be encased within a clear sphere, possibly a clear glass or plastic, preventing the keys from directly touching one another. Note that the clear encasement of the keys provides the visual effect of an invisible force field. As the top hat is moved on and about the table, the encased keys appear to rotate radially and axially and the encased keys are able to bounce off the interior areas of the top hat. Gravity eventually pulls the encased keys towards the top of the hat. **Design Rules** The Android Activity must support rotating of the Android device screen orientation. The general location of the encased keys will be maintained as the Android device rotates from portrait to landscape and back to portrait. Note: We understand and expect that the movements leading up to the change in orientation will have an effect on the encased keys. The point being, we want the encased keys to appear resized near their anticipated location after the rotation occurs. The top hat must be able to contain up to 100 encased keys. The size of the encased keys may vary depending on the style of key. The Android app will include a Menu option to add another key to the top hat. The added key will materialize well above the top hat opening and appear to fall into the top hat. Each added key should be a different color. Note: we understand that it may be difficult to see subtle color differences. Do your best. This project must use the Android 2.2 (level 8) API. The attached PSD file contains a top hat and a representative sample key. The worker will use the large blue key in the PSD file as a reference for the pixel art or sprites key style. The large blue key will not be displayed on or inside the hat. **Developer Implementation Choices** We imagine this project can be accomplished using a variety of 2D or 3D graphic techniques. When describing your solution for this project, please explain which graphic techniques you selected. We expect the encased keys are sprites or pixel art with at least 30 facets showing the key in a progressive radial and axial rotation with the last facet providing a smooth visual progression to the first facet. We imagine that the behavior of each encased key may be controlled by its own thread. The thread would be responsible for calculating the encased key's movements and rotations in the confined space of the hat. Let us know if your implementation uses threads for each key or some other approach. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Monday Oct 1, 2012 1:48:37 PM: Answers to recent questions: Q1) Would you need 2D or game? A1) This app is not really a game. It is a user interface showing things the user has won. The app appears and behaves like a game. It is up to the worker to choose between a 2D or 3D solution. Q2) Could you tell me max budget? A2) The budget for this project is confidential. We are unsure of the project scope and effort. We have sufficient funds for the right individual or team that demonstrates they have the experience to complete this project. Thanks for your interest in the the project. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Tuesday Oct 2, 2012 11:45:11 AM: Answers to additional questions. Q3) Do you need this game should have to work on Android tablet too? A3) The app runs on Android smartphones and does not run on Android tablets. Thanks for your continued interest.
