Cross Browser Video Player Compatibility

I have a video player programmed (included below) which works great on mac and in Chrome/Safari and IE (if quicktime is installed). However, we need to ensure that the videos play in IE and Firefox. I have been looking online at some HTML code called Video for Everyone, but I don't have the skills to incorporate that into our player. We are prepared to use .mov or .mp4 and to have a second set of videos in .ogg. This should be a quick project to get the video player to check for the browser and choose the correct video to play. Ideally, the videos would autostart and autoplay through the 18 videos in sequence.
