Analytics

I am finding it hard to add analytics to my website.

I have the google code but am not sure if i am adding to the correct place.

Actually i can only add in certain places as it is a CSS website and i don`t have access to the whole program.

I add and change pages from a template.

Looking for google analytics help or other foms of analyzing data.
