OK, Very interested in your project. I am a senior expert in pattern recognition using Matlab and OpenCV. This project needs followings. 1) using image segmentation method, detect cards. 2) use image processing and machine learning methods to identify cards (pattern recognition). 3) according to poker rules, calculate the winning probability of player with cards. here also, needs some machine learning and fuzzy methodology. I can do above tasks by using opencv perfectly. In order to convert to android, you'd better to choose opencv than Matlab. Thanks, Regards.

Dear Sir, Firstly I have to make clear that I'm not the right person for the android part. Aside from that, I could very efficiently accomplish the other two parts. The part of the card recognition, which is my speciality, and off course the probabilities part. I guarantee that even if the quality of the images isn't always as good as the one you provided, the code will be efficient enough. In that direction it would be great if I had access to as many as possible photos, that will be similar to those that are going to be used. Even photos that due to the lighting are not ideal, so that the algorithm to be prepared for let's say an unwanted reflection in a large area of a card. Off course the ability for the algorithm to overcome such difficulties is limited. One more thing, my programming writing is friendly to anyone who reads it. I mean that I use clean code with detailed notation so as to be more easy to be understood. If it is helpful, I could also submit a complete description of the algorithm steps. It is obvious that even after the submission of the code I will be available for any kind of improvement that would made easier the job of the android programmer, at the point off course that no compromise is going to be made in the total efficiency of the code. The matlab version I use is R2011b, that means that there is unlimited compatibility to every following version that is installed in any machine. I am looking forward for our cooperation.
