The goal is to design a compact antenna for a wireless communication application.
This thesis presents a design of compact multiband Planar Inverted F Antenna
consist of a radiating patch with a hook shaped slot and FR4 substrate is used
with dielectric constant 4.4. By cutting a hook-shaped slit at radiating patch
good dual-band property can be achieved which can operated at microwave access
(WiMAX) band from 3.3GHz to 3.5GHz and local area network (WLAN) band 5.2
GHz ( w.r.t S11 -10dB) In addition, by using a modied ground plane with a ro-
tated I-shaped an the pair of square-ring slot, additional resonances at the higher
frequencies are generated which suitable for 7.25-7.75 GHz downlink of X-band
satellite communication systems and 8.02-8.4 GHz international telecommunica-
tion union (ITU) applications and measured Return loss power, gain, directivity,
current distribution, radiation pattern etc. The antenna was studied with para-
metric study approach to gain the required specications. Slot and Shorting Plates
element techniques were used to reduce the size and an increase bandwidth of the
antenna. Then verify the simulated results. Fairly Omnidirectional and Direc-
tional patterns are obtained which are desired for all communication devices.
A major disadvantage of the PIFA antenna is its narrow impedance bandwidth.
Hence, it is desirable to nd methods that can enhance the bandwidths of the
PIFA antennas. by adding an inverted-U-shaped parasitic element Lambda/2 along with patch then bandwidth enhance in upper band and lower band of dual band PIFA
Antenna and comparative analysis of dual band PIFA with Parasitic and without
Parasitic element and measured its Return loss power, gain, directivity, current
distribution and radiation pattern etc.
It is a demand for the wireless devices to own more than one antenna part
to realize higher information rates, therefore eorts were created to implement
quite one part of same size Ground plane so, a two element design was studied
for the MIMO conguration. The most challenging task was to own lower mutual
coupling and also the Envelope correlation (EC) value 0.5. A detailed studied
was created on the position of the second antenna and best position was selected
from the dierent cases. The planned style operates at each bands maintaining a
value of EC below 0.5 over the band of operation and calculating Mean Eective
Gain(MEG)that is improve diversity performance of MIMO.
