ASP.NET - make ASP.NET Configuration work

I'm using AspNetSqlMembershipProvider which is on a SQL Server database on my hosting company's server. After formatting my local hard drive and reinstalling VWD, without SQL Server Express this time, I cannot manage the users through ASP.NET Configuration anymore. After clicking the button "ASP.NET Configuration" I can see that there are 60 users in the database but when clicking "Manage users" I receive this error message: "An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections.
