For an ASP.net portal on SQL database. Require an application that allows for the publisher of a community portal to identify several web pages, some of which are enabled with RSS feeds like Oddle, or other classified sites on multiple web sites to be pulled into a database for sorting according to their geo location or key category and republished within a custom template.
This content sort retains the orginial link source so that a reader can benefit from an aggregation of thousands of classifieds -for instance, or news feeds, and content that is judged relevant by an editor and then displayed as a live push onto the designated web page.
This allows the user to click on any item and follow it to it original location.
As a bonus, this content should be searchable in some manner that allows the user to narrow their listing of possible candidates by a tagging criteria for instances. The final feed should place so many results on a first page and then feed to subsequent pages as many be required. As new updates are added to the source pages, a timed script runs a refresh and presents the new content at the top of the first page.
Prepared to accept suggestions and ideas. I realize this is a lot and highly specialized, but the main objective is to take the dozen or more locations where content is available and pull it to an existing and established web portal. You may contact me and I will direct you to the existing community portal network, well established after four years of publishing other community relevant data.
i have a talented webmaster and access to an SQL database programmer who together have built the site to date. What we need is a method of processing the page feeds from sites we identify and then how to mix and match the feeds to create a pleasant and conducive user environment on our template pages.
we are entirely open to working colloboratively with someone who has the processing engine figured out and can generate a blended XML feed or whatever is required for us to then worry about how we display it on pages within a size constraint and scripted refresh of content rate.
