Database Application

Create a database application that tracks the customer contracted prices from different vendors and the customer’s retail prices. The application would allow the customer to compare their retail price and contracted prices with their competition. This would allow the customer to ensure their retail price and contracts are inline for the industry in their geographic area (Perhaps based on zip code/radius around or maybe by state). The service would allow drill down reports to look at individual items. Contract expirations would be tracked and would inform customer of upcoming contracts and automatically produce a PDF type reports doing a competitive analyst to help the customer negotiate the best contract possible. The contracted items are many (10,000+) items. Typical customer may have 5-10 contracts to track. Customers would have similar vendors in a geographic area. Database and Scalability: Database needs to be SQL or similar, could be supporting tens of thousands of users. Database input could come from data-entry people or from the customer themselves. Since data entry could be a tedious job to keep updated, may need tools to allow electronic upload/download (spreadsheet format?). ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Application needs a slick interface that is launched from a website. Speed is very important. Application could be an ActiveX or Java application that runs local and the data and logon authentication would be linked through the internet to the central application database. Would need to work on Windows platforms and MACS(if possible)
