customized shopping cart

I am looking for a developer/coder to create a "custom" shopping cart. If possible, I would like the cart to be built upon an existing cart and modified, whether that be a cart that the coder has already designed and can be modified or if it is an open source cart available for modification. Ultimately, I would like ownership of the cart without licensing fees for each domain that uses it. Currently, I have a good amount of product information uploaded to Lite Commerce, and my first priority would be to have the cart designer create a "temporary" interface to which the existing data would be migrated and which could be used to continue entering product data while the cart project is ongoing. This is an absolute priority. I will also need to export the existing data base html page styles into the new cart once the custom cart is finished. The websites will be html driven, and the cart will begin at the point when the sale begins. 1 The major portion of the store will all be on a UNIX server (in any event that is the server type that is being used at this time), and all of the html style is retrieved from a dedicated CSS site, common to all the domains. If possible I would prefer to have the data base CSS load from files on this site as well. If this is not feasible, this is not mandatory.
