Color and Memory Addition to MP3 on Nextar.com

For our MP3 products on [login to view URL], we need to add COLOR selection (Red, Blue, etc…) and MEMORY selection (like 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1G, 2G, etc). Customers have to select them before those MP3 products can be added to cart. We can do them as a drop down menu. Each different combination of selections will result in different item numbers. For example item MA130 has color of red and blue, with available memory of 128MB and 256MB. The item number for Red with 128MB is “MA130-1R??, while Blue with 256MB is “MA130-2B??. The actual item numbers that customers selected should be saved and shown on the order records. We also have to make sure that the actual item that customer selected is in stock. For example, MA130-1R is in stock while MA130-2B is not. So customer can only add MA130-1R to cart but not MA120-2B. Currently if we set “Product Inventory?? to 0 at our Admin section of the website, “Add to Cart?? button won’t be shown at that the individual product page. The number in stock for selected item number will be deducted when order completed. **Admin Section:** We can control (add, update, and delete) those different kind of combinations at our current Admin section. I am suggesting that we can create a new table to keep track all different kind of combinations, but I am not sure if that’s the best way to do so.
