Chumby 8 Hack and Program Creation

Chumby 8 has just hit the market (April 2011 [[login to view URL]][1]). The company has a reputation for introducing touch screen devices known as "Internet Viewers". These devices are also promoted as being "Hackable" and Customizable by the [login to view URL] even have a blog set up for this. Their New Model: the "Chumby 8" Has new features and ports and boast that there are over 1,500 Free Apps available. SONY and BEST BUY came out with their own version in partnership with CHUMBY Industries. Sony also has a New Model due in July 2011. Enough about the history of Chumby. Question: Is there anyone that is able to hack this device then Create a Customized program to display my future LOGO, accept phone numbers via the touch screen then use the phone number to look up the cell carrier then immediately send a custom TEXT to the phone number? The device has a built in Browser and runs on a LINUX platform. Without hacking the APPS can usually be created using Adobe Flash 3.1 , It is said to be OPEN SOURCE - Please let me know if you or someone you know may be able to help. Thank you.
