Deploy .war project & create simple AJAX interaction

I would like to deploy the Program D (AIML interpreter) project to a web server of mine. I already have tomcat5 installed.

Following the deployment of the project, I would also like the developer to provide a simple AJAX solution example used to query the interpreter for responses.

All back-end functionality should be prepared using php (no jsp).
