Challenging Web Prototype/Idea Development

I would like feedback/quotes on the development of a prototype website/web app. Here's the fundamental idea, I'm not sure how totally possible or functional it would be so I would like just a prototype and your thoughts on how best to do it / the possibility of it. Idea: A word find website (English). Reason: Everyone has those moments where they know a word but they can't quite think of it. Or they need a word which they can describe, but just cant think of. For example, you may ask someone: "What's a world that means is given a lot of attention?" The Website: I want it to be a word finder that solves this problem. So a visitor would type in the description of a word that their thinking of and the site would return suggestions with their definitions. I thought it could work something like this: A bot would crawl various dictionary/thesaurus sites and wikipedia creating a database-thing. This would effectively create a database of words, and multiple definitions for each word. When someone searches, they are essentially searching the definitions, and any definitions that match, or have a few of the words in the search query, would then be displayed on the website. It needs to have multiple sources as there are so many ways to word things, the more sources, the more chance of getting one that fits. It would also be ideal (if possible) that the search uses synonyms of the search terms, to search the word definitions. -- I hope all that makes sense, please let me know if you have questions about the concept. Let me know your bid to construct a working prototype of this search, any ideas you may have, and how would be best to do it.
