This is an amazing project! Its purpose is to build a web based system to help people doing good money management.
It should be based on PHP CodeIgniter + Apache + MySQL.
The graphics should be similar to "BaseCamp" ones (I attach an example of the login box), white, shadows, green buttons, nice fonts.
Part of the application has already been developed. Please, let me know if it could be a good idea to start from that. Feel free to ask more details upon that.
It could help explaining the main functionalities, anyway.
## Deliverables
The system would have:
1. a login / registration system, with password recovery and email sending to users after registration or password recovery.
2. once a user is logged in, it will display 7 jars on the top of the page, each jar is identified by a type (3 letters code) and a TOTAL value.
3. below, the user could insert money amounts and each amount is split into jars (each jar will then collect a percentage of the whole amount).
4. Amounts inserted could be viewed on a Monthly basis. Current month fully displayed with all rows inserted, previous months "closed up" in DIVs (that would roll-down with ajax and jquery effects)
5. Each user will have a profile page where he could change its details, its password. The user could change jars percentages too on another tab.
6. Each user could insert "expenses", which differs from the previous type of amounts because they are made up by an amount and a "tag" (3 letters code). Each tag has a correspondence into jars and the expense amount will be subtracted from the corresponding jar (even if the expense value will be a positive value).
8. The homepage structure is suggested in the attachments
jQuery Ajax requests will be used to insert/modify/delete amounts, to update jars totals and so on.
