Additional Functionality for Pre-Order Component.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION We have a Joomla restaurant pre-order component that requires some additional functionality. Currently Admin creates a party, and the system automatically emails the Party Leader a username and password to create and amend the guest’s orders. I now require the functionality for the Party Leader to add his guests email addresses so the system will email each guest a login username and password and they can amend/create their own orders. We also currently email all guests a confirmation of their order. We need an additional email tab which will notify the Party Leader that a guest has placed their order and also that the guest has paid (we currently have all the PayPal functionality for individual and group party payments). Additionally if the same email address is used for a number of guests only one username and password will be sent. Then that particular guest will be able to manage all the guests pre-orders associated with that email address. A Party Leader is a user that creates invitations which will be received by guests through email. He will have the option of sending the guests their own username and password to log on the website to create their own menu choices. OBJECTIVES • To give guests the option to choose their own menu. • To give guests the opportunity to log on their username and change their menu choices directly rather than contacting the admin/party leader for any changes in their menu. • To lessen the work of Admin. APPROACH The Party leader must work on assigning all guests their username and password. Any changes the guests will make will be sent to the party leader’s email. HOW IT WORKS 1. The Party Leader will send the invitations. The username and password will be automatically generated and sent to the guests’ email. 2. The guests will log on the website using their username and password. 3. The guests will choose their choice of menu and save it. 4. A report will be sent to the party leader and guests’ email about their menu choice. EXPECTED RESULTS This function will result in getting work done faster in terms of getting menu choice for guests. The admin will have less work and the party leader will be informed of the guests’ choices. This will help in the efficiency of the pre-order component.
