Build CS Cart Dynamic Category Navigation Block

I have a CS Cart 4.0 store that is working well, but I want to add a navigation tweak to help my customers navigate easier.
Currently, the page navigation for categories is ALL on the top of the page on a menu bar.
I want to have a box on the left hand side that shows the PARENT category that the customer is in, along with the sub-categories below it, with the current category the customer is viewing BOLDED or offset somehow, so they know.
I only want this box to appear on the category pages, not on the product page itself.
This job shouldn't be too hard to accomplish, I don't think.
