A third party have created a CRM system for that is in many respects quite sophisticated but lacks a few key things. The main thing is that the deduping function on up load is nonexistant. this means that people are duplication frequently. Also we cannot upload ourselves we have to wait til they choose to do this for us. often it doesn't happen and the way it is categorised is not how we want it and basically it is not up to scratch. the database is webbased built around ASP.
We would like someone to develop a programme where we can upload excel (or csv or something that can be done on a regular computer) with standard headings and a way of categorising the list we are uploading.
Here is an example:
We hold a conference on Architecture, we have a list of 200 people who attended. Most of these people, or at least their companies, are already on the database. We want to upload the list so that
1. company information is updated
2. personal contact details are updated
3. that contact is marked as having purchased the 'architecture conference' product from us (visible to other people who look up that contact in the furure)
4. registered as a prospect for future conferences on that topic.
All the relevant feilds exist in the database for this to occur but now what happens is:
1. a new contact AND company is added
2. no relationship is made between previous products purchased and no way of reporting.
Ideally this would be an uploader tool that let us imput predefined feilds and then cross references against company information (name, address, industry)and contact information (name, email) and then updated where necessary, or made an alert if there is a conflict so that we could choose either 1. add new company and/or contact 2. overwrite company and/or contact 3. update comapny and/or contact
