Hello, I think the project description needs clarification. We did during the last year a project quite related: It is software for an electronic toll collection system and it has two operational sites as of now. One active for roughly 1 year and one for 6 months. We are in the analysis stage for the third site, this one with a lot of new features. On those systems we use C++ to do licence plates recognition and php+mysql to do tool booth interface and back-office. From the (very) little you mention in this post I see we might fit your envelope. Based on our previous experience we understand this kind of topic and we want to set it right from the start. For example, the project we described before took roughly six months from inception to handover (It also included POS features you might not require), At this point putting a price tag on this project is very hazardous. Therefore I would like to ask you to clarify like: 1. What is the intended usage 2. What kind of platform do you have in mind as the embedded Linux device? 3. What kind of interface you want on top of it? 4. What kind of back-office do you have in mind? Any more information you have would help us greatly. Hello, Based on the description you need some embedded system designed that can recognize faces and license plates which means there is need for processing the video stream. I would like to apply for the job as I have worked with embedded devices that process videos and tranmit data from the acquired video stream. Based on the requirement, I guess Linux goes well to implement the project on an ARM processor based architecture. Implementing the code in C programming language will be efficient and use less resources. Also the processed data and images need to be stored and transmitted.
