Creation of a geo-, time- and name-coded book database

The target of this project is the creation of a database (MySQL) containing basic information about books (fiction and non-fiction, but no scientific books) in german language based on ISBN and ASIN that also contains the places (geographically), times and names that are featured in these books. Basic information is ISBN/ASIN, Title, Author. Places are worlds (think science fiction!), continents, countries, regions, cities. Places must be geocoded (Latitude/Longitude) so the first step would be to create the list of places. The german form of places is needed (München vs. Munich). Times are based on the western calendar: millennium, century, year, month, date. Names are german firstnames and lastnames. Each book can feature several places, times and names. The solution would consist of a search script that finds those items intelligently in available online book resources (Google Books, Amazon samples available via Amazon API). It should run on my web server (Linux / PHP). It must feature an admin panel where I can guide it to new books by using lists of ASINs/ISBNs or single ASINs/ISBNs. The script should run stable.
