Application rewrite

We need an application re-written. The current application (v3.6) is written in VB.Net and lacks functionality that we are desiring. See [url removed, login to view] for more information regarding the application. We are looking to have it written in C#.

The new application should have a configuration tool for settings, include a direct query interface into the serial device. Should support freeze frame data (this stuff will make more sense when you get involved int he project) and the ability to export that freeze frame data into a properly formatted xml file, should be able to display O2 sensor readings. Must support PIDs 5 and 6 (this will all be explained). The application needs to be language independant which will require you to create XML language files external from the application so our distributors in other countries can modify for their users.

We will provide the hardware required for you to interface a vehicle and the source from our 3.6 application, but you must have access to vehicles supporting our ISO, VPW and PWM interfaces for development and testing purposes (see [url removed, login to view] for more information). The current application has about 5,000 lines of VB.Net code. The 4.0 version will also need to come with documentation (Windows help documentation, built into app). We will provide a license to InstallShield 5.0 as well as licensing for Dundas Charts for .Net. You will need to work with us on the licensing as we will be encrypting the compiled version before you build the installation using PC Guard for .Net.

Winning bidders must have flexible schedule and will need to put in many man hours in a short amount of time. Once this application is built we will also ask same team (or individual), if everything goes well, to do a Pocket PC and Palm version for us.

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) Exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site).
