Greetings fellow coders,
I am having great difficulty in using an Access 2003 MDB File through my rather large program in Visual Basic 6.0. I have a few users acessing this database (6-8) and only receive problems when more than one user it using the program:
_**Example:**_
*Dim rsa as New [login to view URL]
[login to view URL] "SELECT * FROM NotesNormal WHERE ItemNumber LIKE '" & [login to view URL](a) & "'", "dbTLOL", adOpenDynamic, adLockOptimistic
If [login to view URL] = True then [login to view URL]*
However, This usually results in on of the following errors:
Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)':
Unspecified Error
Or:
Run-time error '-2147217843 (80040e4d)':
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Too many active users.
Or:
Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)':
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The database has been placed in a state by an unknown user that prevents it from being opened or locked.
**What do these errors mean? Why do I get them so often? Why is not all the time? Sometimes, things go fine. Other times, it won't execute a single command. Still other times it will execute some but not all.
I am willing to pay a small fee to whomsoever can solve this problem completely to my satisfaction, which is spelled out in the Deliverables.
A small version of the actual database file that we're using has been supplied in the attached zip file. It does not contain any personally identifiable information of our customers' or ours.
Also attached in the zip file is a module called dbModule that handles most of the database processing.**
