Job Description: I have a requirements for a database synchronisation tool to be built. There are two parts to the application: 1. Server component - this will be a web service that handles queries from clients. 2. Client component - the client runs locally on a windows workstation and sends all transaction information to the server. It also downloads any new data relevant to the client from the server. The requirements are as follows: A web service needs to be built which will handle queries from the client, and allow data to be transferred between the server and client. The web service uses an SQL database to hold all data, and this database is updated by the web service with data from the client. The Workstation component needs to be a windows service that continuously monitors the local database (sql express) and uploads any new transactions to the server. It then also needs to query the server and download any data relevant to the client and update the local database. The ONLY information that goes from the client to the server is new transactions. Any other information that the client needs it downloads from the server. The data transfer needs to happen in real time - ie a new transaction is done and it is immediately sent to the server. If the client is disconnected it needs to send data to the server at a later date when the connection is available. The server component needs to be able to handle multiple connections/queries simultaneously and be scalable to support many clients sending/receiving data to/from it. I require that the source code and all associated project files be handed over on completion. Table structures will be made after provider selection is made. Project should be built in visual basic using .net 3.0 or later. Applications must use local configuration files not the windows registry
