WEBSITE DESIGN:

The header for each page has already been created in Flash. The overall look and feel of the site should be very user friendly for both men and women. The preexisting software will largely dictate the auction portion. For the other six sections we have sketches of what we want.

Our main concern is software troubleshooting and design of our main pages. We have web design knowledge and experience but not the technical knowledge to make the auction software work or the time to design the different sections of our website. Every page of the website should require a user login that is tied to the auction login. We only want users to have to login once and we don’t want no-registered users to access the website. We also want to require that users be 18 or older to register.

Other items include newsletter signup (already exists in the auction software) and “send to a friend” links on all pages.

AUCTIONS:

PHPAuction software ([login to view URL]) is already purchased and installed. We need to customize the look of the software, some pages are already done. We would like users to be able to post a photo of themselves and a personal profile similar to myspace.com. We’ve already created the necessary auction categories and set other admin preferences such as fees. We’re primarily concerned about the design. We’re having trouble making the software work correctly. It needs some troubleshooting. We would like users to be able to rate each auction.

OTHER SECTIONS:

Mostly basic page layout with content provided by us. We need to incorporate the auction software’s existing message boards with a poll question and link to our blog. We would also like users to be able to send ecards. Users should also be able to post images in a non-auction section of the website.
