Project Title: Developing a PHP based Email client for Bluetooth enabled devices Background to the Project 1. The total number of email messages sent daily will exceed 60 billion worldwide by 2006, according to an IDC forecast. 2. This compares with 31 billion email messages sent daily during 2002. 3. The research firm predicts that email volume will continue to grow as person-to-person emails are joined by rapidly growing numbers of spam, email alerts and notifications. 4. According to IDC, more than half of all messages sent in 2006 will be person-to-person emails. 5. Email usage will become one of the most critical collaboration tools for mobile users and business collaboration. Hence the needs to develop a mobile email client, for users, who would be embracing the Bluetooth technology. Significant challenges and justification for the project: · Inefficient information exchange among mobile professionals who need to interact in workgroups at any location. · Poor infrastructure support at remote locations for business collaboration. · Alternative methods of exchanging information via email like dial-up accounts, disk exchanges and technologies like infrared proves inefficient. Aims and Objectives: · This project will assist to solve the initial collaboration method for mobile professionals and students. In the future, it would be extended to workgroup solutions. · This project aims at the develop and deliver a PHP based Email Client for wireless devices. This web based mail client is developed to provide users a front-end interface to receive, compose, organise and send their emails. Through this Mail Client, users are able to access their emails accounts, through any Internet enabled PC anywhere, through any web browser. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code/comments of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. 4) Complete the documentation of the whole project. ## Platform Windows/Linux
