What I need is fair simple. I need procedures (SUBs that is) that will do the following: - Extract the database schema to a XML file (from SQL Server) - Create a database in SQL Server from the very same schema. - Extract data found in the database to XML (the same SQL Server database). Backup purpose. - Restore data to the database from XML. - Only tables and users should be exported/imported. No need to deal with stored procedures and such. (This make the job a lot easier, doesn't!?) All code needs to be VB.NET and CLR compliant (ie: no COM objects). This should be fairly easy to export/import to/from XML. If there's a problem of if you have ideas, let me know! This code will basically be used as a database backup/restore engine. The idea is to be able to create a database from scratch in code (SQL Server must be installed prior to this, of course!). This code might be VERY useful for you! [url removed, login to view] XML and/or techniques mentionned above are not mandatory. If there's a better way to do this and I'm not aware of it, please let me know! I am still looking for a few good .NET coders. If you have great rates, you're good, dedicated and clean coder, you might just be the person I'm looking for! ------------ UPDATE ---------------------------- Since it seems like SQLDMO would be a lot easier for this, I will let the coder the choice to use SQLDMO or not. I have even found scripts for the coder! The project is now a very easy one! Here is some code I have found for you. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
## Deadline information
Code must be VB.NET and CLR Compliant. It must also follow coding standards, be fully commented and as clean as possible. The code should be OO and made of procedures (subs/functions) and/or objects. The coder might also want to create a little interface to show me the code really works. The coder should/must have the final framework and if possible, [url removed, login to view] installed. Instant Messenging is a plus.
