Challenge Task: Measure packet loss using Bash and C/C++ only

DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND TCP/IP TROUBLESHOOTING AND BASH, C/C++ PROGRAMMING My client wants to find new programmers that know TCP/IP very well. This project is mainly to find one or more persons for ongoing projects which are network troubleshooting related. You MUST have a very strong understanding of not only network troubleshooting but also know how to code the solutions in both bash and C/C++ code. In this case, our client installs circuits for remote diagnostics. Most times, packets travel only on private networks but at times, over the Internet. The task is to build a solution to discover packet loss and calculate jitter. Ping and traceroute alone cannot solve this problem and a custom coded solution must be written. If you know hot mtr works, then you might have a better chance at success. The challenge is to use only the most basic IP troubleshooting tools, without having to install additional packages and must depend only on your code. First we will use bash scripting to find a working solution but the final result will be needed in C/C++ code which can be handed over to my client.
