Background Clean up - Photographs

I am a portrait photographer and shot a family in a hospital room (the mother has since died so this is why we were in a hospital room). As you can imagine the background is quite messy (the mother couldnt get out of her bed). My client is now wondering if I can clean up the background. Is this something you can do? I am looking at doing 50 images. I would like to have them cut out and then make the background plain.
I will upload one of the images for you to look at and see what you will be working with. I would really like to see what you can do first so I would appreciate you working on the image I have uploaded.
