Project Scope:
The project involves taking an image that I have already had designed and making three slight, simple changes.
Subject Matter:
Autograph / Signature image needs to appear smooth and bold without losing its authentic hand-written appearance. The current version was a scan that was put into Adobe IA vector format by a designer for the first time. Essentially it served as a first draft. This project entails refining the draft and finalizing its appearance as a bold, hand written autograph which will be used for branding/marketing as a logo.
Three Changes:
Change #1: Letter D Revision
When the original D was modified by the previous designer, he was told to preserve the appearance of the dry marker in the letter D in the beginning of "Dangerfield". In the end, the letter was made too bold, and the authentic marker appearance was lost. This issue leads to change #2.
Change#2: Smoothening of all letters (outside/outline) within autograph.
Upon transferring the original scan of the autograph/signature into a bold "vector" format, many letters within the autograph appear to be rigid / spikey. Change #2 entails smoothing out the entire signature so that its appearance remains as if it is authentically handwritten. (No visible pixelation)
Change #3: Empty Space within letters.
The original scan was handwritten with a sharpie marker. In the word "Dangerfield", the letters "a", "g", and "e" were filled in as the marker ink bled. We would like the filled in letters to be open as they appear in the example, but they do not look authentically handwritten. The current open spaces are too symmetrically ovular.
Change #4: Straighten / level signature on a straight line.
The letters on this signatures were modified several times, and in the end - the signature is not level.
The instructions are pretty lengthy, but the project is extremely minor.
