Add smart backend support to python pkgcore

This is the second in a series of projects to help a few open source groups. We need a patch that applies to pkgcore [1] which will change the current vdb backend to use the smart [2] package manager file object store. [1] [login to view URL] [2] [login to view URL] ## Deliverables Technical deliverables: 1) patch that cleanly applies to [login to view URL] using diff -ruN 2) Copy pkgcore/pkgcore/vdb/ to pkgcore/pkgcore/smart and change what's required in order to use addFileChannel from [login to view URL] as found [1] 3) the end goal is that pkgcore will be changed to completely not rely on the vdb database for storing it's packaging information and instead use the smart modules/methods 4) You will have to install pkgcore and smart package manager to effectively test that pkgcore is in fact using the database and storing the information correctly and can be used seamlessly between the two programs. [1] [login to view URL] Legal: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform pkgcore currently runs on linux, but python is platform independent.
